News from China Petroleum NetworkWhen the first ray of sunshine of the new year shines on the sea surface, the three ships of Dongfang Geophysical Exploration Company, Explorer, Dongfang Feilong, and Yuesheng, are like three sharp arrows, cutting through the calm sea surface and advancing at full speed towards the project work area. At 23:46 on February 13th, with the sound of a cannon, the four-dimensional towing cable project in the West African waters, carried out by the explorers and Dongfang Feilong operating ships, was officially launched.

As the seismic source ship for dual ship operations, the Dongfang Feilong quickly entered a new round of preparation work after completing the previous project. The team efficiently completed key tasks such as gun array configuration and replacement, Baro extender update, navigation communication radio testing, food supply, and personnel shift. Each link is interlocked like a precision clock, reflecting the team's excellent planning and execution abilities.

During the project preparation phase, the Explorer fleet demonstrated a high level of collaboration and professional competence. As early as during the Argentina project, the team took precautions and replaced 34 cables for the supply ship of Yuesheng in advance to free up valuable space. They also replaced faulty cables during the cable collection period, clearing obstacles for subsequent work.

During the voyage, the project team raced against time to complete the software and hardware configuration of the cable and gun control system, and performed deep control on over 750 waterbirds Digifin、 Acoustic equipment, tail markers, navigation buoys, and air guns have undergone precise testing, maintenance, and calibration to ensure that each device is in optimal condition. The entire team is like a precise symphony orchestra, with every note accurate and every detail demonstrating professionalism and tacit understanding.

During the docking period, the team completed the boarding of 47 spare parts and 4 months of food supplies, providing solid material support for the smooth progress of subsequent work.

The Explorer fleet will continue to uphold the core concept of "exploration and innovation, striving for excellence", and take this project as an opportunity to further promote breakthroughs in deep-sea towed cable exploration technology.
